Recycling is a process whereby waste material is turned into other useful products. This is done to reduce the use of raw materials that would have been used. Recycling also uses less energy and great way of controlling air, water & land pollution.

REDUCE, REUSE & RECYCLE – The 3 R’s assist in reducing the amount of waste that is sent to landfill

Currently our recycling facilities generate between 150 – 280 tons per month. Annually we recycle approximately between 3000 to 4500 tons of waste.

Our recycling facilities employs approximately 36 people currently from the disadvantage background.

We have trained & up-skilled them with the relevant knowledge and in accordance with their job specifications.

Contents of a Wheelie Bin

Plastic Containers and Bottles (14%)
Various plastic containers, such as detergent bottles and cleaning product containers.

Glass Bottles and Jars (3%)
Glass bottles and jars, often from beverages or food products.

Garden and Organic Waste (29%) Includes grass clippings, leaves, and other organic materials from gardens and yards.

Metal Cans and Aluminum Foil (4%)
Includes cans and foil

Paper and Cardboard (12%)
Newspapers, cardboard boxes, and packaging

Food Scraps (25%)
Includes fruit peels, vegetable remains, and other leftover food. 

Other (13%)
This portion includes waste such as old rags, used diapers, etc

What is Recyclable?

Recyclable materials include items that can be processed and reused to create new products, reducing waste and conserving resources. Common recyclables include paper, cardboard, plastic bottles, aluminum cans, etc. Proper sorting and disposal of these items help protect the environment by reducing landfill waste and lowering pollution levels.
